In what has to be the biggest insult to human intelligence since predictive text, the morons in charge of the London 2012 Olympics held a god awful press conference to show off their latest project.
The premise behind the big countdown clock is not the issue, which was started with a time showing 500 days 0 hours 0 minutes and 0 seconds to highlight the fact the games are still ages away, but that shouldn’t stop the team in charge from wasting loads of money.
However...
It wasn’t long before the countdown stopped and the worlds press fell upon this with glee as it allowed a different story to be run away from the horrors of Japan.
Hilarity was the order of the day and embarrassed faces were handed all around Seb Coe and his chums.
But....
One thing that most so called journalists failed to notice (and indeed the idiots in charge couldn’t be arsed to check) was the countdown was entirely wrong regardless of it stopping for no reason.
The clock is counting down the time from 15/03/2011 19:30 until the start of the games 19:30 27/07/2012. Which is NEARLY 500 days – but not quite.
The only problem and rather a major one at that is the fact the clock was started during GMT but the Olympics will be held in the summer when we will be an hour in front due to British summer time, therefore the at the moment the clock reaches zero the whole opening ceremony will be almost over and anyone using the clock to gauge their arrival time will not find a parking space, let alone see any part of the start.
Well done Seb Coe and Co. You complete self absorbed useless morons.
Why not stick running in circles like abused dogs on a gypsy site, which what you are paid to do instead of play acting at town planners.
These people were given millions and millions of pounds to create a games that would drag us all out of the dump we are in. Instead we are the laughing stock of the whole world.
