(with apologies to Rob for the madman like rant over on G+. Hopefully this makes sense to you. If it does then we're both in trouble! hahahahahaha)
The other night I was randomly clicking through the BBC websites when I came across this little piece about a cleaner who saw a load of cardboard boxes and junk on the floor and thought "Bloody builders, can't be bothered to clean up after themselves." and so she dutifully did her job, cleaned it all up and threw it away.
Turns out that the pile of mess was in fact some kind of "art installation".
I'm not happy.
I thought we had got away from all this clap trap nonsense of modern art.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Anyone can make modern art. Just wait until the binmen are on strike and pile up your old newspapers, tin cans and those socks with holes in you keep threatening to throw away and NOT put in the wash basket (we all do it) and then invite the local art critic to come around and appraise it.
Make sure you write a card with something pompous on it like "The invalidity of the human form from the perspective of hidden lust" or "Entropy within A half empty glass." or anything that makes no sense and Bob's your uncle. Next stop - an interview with Melvyn Bragg.
Art, PROPER art, is something that should look like the thing it is supposed to be. A painting of a horse, a statue of a lady with no vest on or even a bucket of bananas. It doesn't have to be photo-realistic but it should be recognisable from a distance or at least at a certain angle.
Don't get me wrong, there is art and then there is art. Just look at some of the wonderful stuff made by fellow blogger ROB Z TOBOR - it's brilliant.
It's art.
I know it is, you know it is.
We also know that my recycling bin is full of junk and not art. That is the difference. Rob makes things and there is skill and talent at work.
My bin is just a bin. It is NOT art.
But Tracy Emin and her crew would have you believe that it is an insight into the retrospective viewpoint of what ever random word they pick out of the dictionary.
I understand some people enjoy art and they are welcome to take what they can from it, but those that create piles of litter should be ashamed of themselves and possibly arrested for fraud and/or fly tipping.
The article above quotes the "artwork" as being insured for $10,000.
For that amount of money you buy... well - tons of stuff. Remote control helicopters, a car, a nice holiday. the list is almost endless.
It's such a con I thought I'd have a go myself.
Using a little known program called Microsoft Paint, I sicked up this rubbish in 20 seconds.
I call it "Regrets of Question Time."
You can have it for £235.00 cheap at twice the price. I'll even sign it for an extra tenner.
Granted it's no Neil Buchanan masterpiece, but I tried and that's more than these arty farty cheaters have ever done.

A Day At The Races. Part 1
Today is the start of Cheltenham.
It is a day where I have promised to spend my money on your
say so.
Thanks to everyone who voted for BOYS NAMES. I hope it was
the right choice.
I had no idea which
horses would be running today but made my choices based upon boys names in the
races running today.
The following list contains the bets I have made for today
12/03/2013.
13:30 Puffin BILLY @14/1 (1-3)
14:05 SIMONsig @4/6 (1-2)
14:40 Our MICK @9/2 (1-4)
16:00 Outlaw PETE @4/1 (1-4)
17:15 ARTHURS pass @12/1 (1-4)
I have placed single bets at 10p each way so the numbers in
brackets indicate the position the horse can finish for me to still win money.
I have also placed these horses in an accumulator (each way - I’m not daft!) that could win a total of £90.27
On top of this I have placed these horses in a bet called
Doubles Each way. This means that at least two of the horse must be placed for
me to win any money back.
£1.22 has been wasted spent of these horses and a total of
around £102 could be won in returns.
Keep ‘em crossed.
If I get at least my money back I reveal the top secret
thing that I am not allowed to talk about but keep mentioning to make my life
seen a little less boring.
Good luck everyone!
"My hobbies include sado masochism, Bestiality and Necrophilia - Am I just flogging a dead horse?"
I will be away from my computer today so will not know the results until tomorrow evening. But if all goes according to plan and this turns out to be fun (!!) then I might do it again.
If I end up skint.... then I probably won't bother. hahahahaha

Spend My Money For Me - Honest!
Right I’m back.
3 days away from blogging and I’m already getting withdrawal
symptoms.
Pathetic.
I’ve been busy doing the things I need to do for the secret
thing that I still can’t talk about yet and have made some progress.
Being unable to talk about the thing I am not allowed to
talk about is becoming quite an arduous task but hopefully soon I will be able
to reveal all.
When I say reveal all I don’t mean I will be appearing on embarrassing
bodies or anything like that.
There are enough people that laugh at my naked form already…
Mrs H for one!
But back to the task in hand.
Not done one of these for a while but I am giving you lot the chance to have an effect on the outcome of my life.
I am a terrible gambler. For two reasons.
Firstly; I lose
more than I win.
Secondly; I only ever bet the minimum amount. (I’m not bloody
stupid)
Exactly 3 years ago this month I put £30 into an online
betting account and have won and lost and lost some more over the past. I have
not put any more into that account and have bet my winnings away so that my
balance stands at £6.94.
In retrospect, I don't think that is too bad. I have placed at least one bet each and every day on a range of things from kickingball and the 'Lympics and Golf and tennis and Snooker and the horse running. When I think of how far I have managed to make £30 stretch I don't think I have done too bad. But time's time and now the original stake is fast running out it's time to go out with a bang.
With this last bit of cash I am offering to allow you dear
reader to dictate how that money is lost bet.
I will bet on the horses at Cheltenham and I would like
you to decide how I place the bets. (alright, maybe I am stoopid!-haha)
Cheltenham is due on Tuesday the 12th and I would
like you to chose which category I place my bets on.
Please chose from:
Bet on all horses that have food/colour/boys name/girls
name/ place in their name.
For example if you choose food I will place a bet on all
horses that have a link to food in their name. the same goes for colour and
boy/girl name etc.
Got it? good.
I have no idea how many horses there are in total, or how
many bets I will be able to place.
I will choose the most popular answer in the comments boxes
below.
Either way, I will print a copy of my bets on my next post for all to see and you can cheer on my horses as if they were your own.
If I win big I promise to share my winnings with you*.
If (and more than likely WHEN) I loose I will not blame you
in any way shape or form.
It’s not often you get to bet with other people money
(unless you are a banker) so don’t miss this
opportunity to make £££’s (for
me).
You really can’t do any worse than I have.
Good luck and keep ‘em crossed!!!
Cheers.
(for those who read via Facebook and are unable to comment here, please leave your option on FB and i will copy and paste all answers on the next post before the races - thanks)
*I never break my promises :O)
Here's a little video to get you in the mood. (nsfw)
