This week has seen a shopping event called Black Friday to descend upon the UK.
It originates from the USA and shops over here, on our little island, have decided to have a go.
It didn't work out to well.
Having seen the news it appears that a man fell over, somebody got pushed, a woman in a wheelchair was hurt (!) and some poor bugger broke an ankle.
I had become a little bit excited for Black Friday, before it came.
But under no circumstances would I ever think it would be acceptable to trample over a fallen human being in distress in order to make the most of a 10% on a TV that I don't need!
I opted for the online experience instead.
The night before Black Friday (Dull Thursday?) I had set up my laptop with different screens showing various websites like Argos, amazon, currys etc, ready to take full advantage of any and all super savings that came my way.
I had a list of certain things I wanted and made sure I knew what price I was willing to pay.
As the clock flicked over to midnight I refreshed the browser and......
.....was met with a screen for most of the sites that read "You are in a queue..Time to wait 40 minutes!"
HANG ON. I thought to myself. THIS ISN'T THE DOCTORS - WHY AM I HAVING TO WAIT.
Yet again, it appears that my money wasn't good enough for the high street traders.
I went to bed.
Getting up in the morning I decided to venture out into the real world and see what all this fuss was about.
I went to the town centre and found a load of people walking around without a care in the world.
It was busy, but nobody was pushing or shoving or fighting - unlike what was being shown on the news.
I even saw some people smiling at each other!
I went into some of the shops, looking for the things I wanted, but ultimately left empty handed.
It was all a bit disappointing to be honest.
The only thing I bought was a clip for a keyring (it was buy one get one free +20% off, so that was £1.29 well spent).
Back home I had beans on toast for tea.
I only tell you this I am still struggling to find anything of note to write about....
Oh yes. Having recently sold all my CD's I am now in the very slow process of copying all my DVD's onto a hard drive so that I can sell those as well and make a lot of room when the January sales come and I can waste all my money on things and junk and stuff.
ROLL ON CYBER MONDAY!!!!!

A Once In A Lifetime Event (for the 2nd time)
"my brain is empty.
I have nothing to say about anything.
Is this the end of Thoughtless Gibberish?
Have I spouted so much rubbish over the years that I have run out of things to say?
My life is so boring at the moment that I genuinely can not think of anything to rant about."
...That is all I wrote this morning in preparation for todays post.... and then something truly amazing happened.
Whilst returning from shopping with Mrs H we had to drive through "the big round-a-bout" near the shops.
This round-a-bout is a stupid one because every ten meters there is a set of traffic lights. My understanding of roundabouts was they were there in order to keep traffic moving and reduce the need for lights.
However, since moving to the area I have noticed there are roundabouts EVERYWHERE!
And this huge roundabout has a least three sets that you have to stop-start-stop-start to get through before I can get back on the main road on zoom off into the distance.
Today something strange happened at the roundabout.
The lights were on green.
This is not unusual in itself, but as we curved round to the next set.... they were also on green.
This happens once in a while and I always fell rather privileged when I make through two sets in one go.
But then.....
The third set were on green.
I checked my speedometer.
27mph.
This is the ideal speed. I was doing the ideal speed for traffic lights.
You see, not a lot of people know that when a string of traffic lights are ahead you should aim to do 10% less than the speed limit.
Traffic lights are usually set to cut up the flow of traffic because everybody does 30mph (or a bit over - naughty)... but if you can keep to 27mph through a green light, the chances are you will breeze through ALL OF THE GREEN LIGHTS - assuming there are no Sunday drivers dithering in front of you.
There were no ditherers in front of us today.
We hit the lights bang on green at the perfect speed of 27mph.....and through.
WHOOSH!
Only once before had I ever managed to get through the lights without being cut up, braking at the last minute as the lights change etc.... but not today.
Today I was KING OF THE ROAD!!!!!!!
What a joy....
What a feeling.....
What a boring life I lead.....
Next week I promise to produce something amazing.
Until then....... I dunno..... cup of tea?
