Mr Thomas

As you read this I shall be at Hollingworth Lake in the Northern village of Littleborough tucking into Mr Thomas' Fish, chips, peas and gravy in a tray with a little plastic fork.

(if you are ever lost and find yourself near this place, pop in and treat yourself to best fish n chips in the north west... honestly... they are awesome)

I have not been back the the lake for years and, whilst visiting Old Granny Hogart, I shall be treating the wife and Granny H to a slap up chippy tea.

I'm just THAT kind of hero.

If you spot me knocking about, why not give me a friendly nod (from a distance, I don't want to catch your dirty germs) and I may wave back like a giddy child.

Until then...
Paranormal service shall resume next week.

  1. This is the sort of stuff that made Britain Great Mr H, so I hope you enjoyed your fish and chips and that you have a grand time. All I can say is eat your heart out Hollywood, you dont know what you are missing.

  2. It's been a long time since I visited, but was just as good as I remembered.
It's only a small cafe, but a very popular one. The owner had opened two other chippes in the next village (where I grew up) but it was always a special treat to pop to the lake and eat there.
It was a shame I could get a good picture of the view. Very reminiscent of Stockdale which, even though it doesn't exist, has a very similar touristy spot.... but the fish and chips there are awful.
